The University of Tasmania is a public research university located in Tasmania, Australia. It is Australia’s fourth oldest university. It offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs with a truly internationalized curriculum, student exchanges and learning experiences to shape future global leaders. It is connected with 20 specialist research institutes and co-operative research centres. The university has been granted multiple 5 rating scores by the Australian Research Council for excellence in research mainly for Marine and Antarctic studies. The university has been ranked in the top 10 research universities in Australia and in the top 2% of universities worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities.

University of Tasmania is dedicated to enriching an inclusive environment which encourages equality and values diversity. There are currently around 30,000 students out of which 33% consists of international students coming from all over the world. It has a large alumni network with more than 105,000 alumni across 120 countries. Scholarship Details
  1. Tasmanian International Scholarship 

The Tasmanian International Scholarship provides commencing international students with a 25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of their course (provided satisfactory grades are maintained). All international students who submit an International Student Application to study in an undergraduate degree (with the exception of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Dementia Care and AMC Seafaring courses) will be automatically assessed for the TIS Scholarship. This scholarship is also available to international students applying for postgraduate coursework degrees (with a few course exceptions).

  1. South Asia Scholarship

The South Asia Scholarship provides eligible international students commencing study in 2022 with a 15% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of their course. This includes citizens of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.

  1. 2022 Commencing Offshore Student Scholarship

2022 Commencing Offshore Student Scholarship provides commencing international students studying overseas with a 20% reduction in tuition fees while they are unable to travel to Australia for study due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. International students must be studying one of the following Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) registered coursework programs for the first time:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Honours

  • Postgraduate Coursework degree with a duration of no less than one year including any Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma that are part of a packaged offer leading to a Masters by Coursework program

 

  1. Destination Australia Scholarship

International Students commencing full-time undergraduate/postgraduate studies for the first time are eligible for this scholarship. Scholarship value is 15,000 AUD per year.

Besides these there are other scholarships available to international students who have completed a minimum of one semester at the University of Tasmania. It is recommended to check with the counselors or university representatives.

The University of Tasmania is registered by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), the national higher education regulator, as an Australian University. It is accredited with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses to Overseas Students (CRICOS).
