About

The University of Roehampton, located in southwest London, traces its origins to 1841 with the establishment of Whiteland's College, one of the UK's first higher education institutions for women. It evolved through the unification of four historic colleges—Whiteland's, Southlands, Digby Stuart, and Froebel—each founded in the 19th century. These colleges merged to form the Roehampton Institute of Higher Education in 1975, which gained university status in 2004 as the University of Roehampton. Situated on a 54-acre parkland campus near Richmond Park, the university offers a serene environment while maintaining easy access to central London. The University of Roehampton offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various disciplines, including Business, Education, Psychology, Life Sciences, and the Arts. It is accredited by the UK's Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), ensuring high academic standards. With a diverse student body of approximately 9,000 students, about 14% are international students representing over 140 countries. To support international students, the university provides comprehensive services such as visa assistance, orientation programs, and dedicated support through the 'Nest' team. Additionally, all first-year international students are guaranteed on-campus accommodation, with 1,500 single-occupancy, self-catered rooms available.
