• The university has a comprehensive Career Center that provides students with career counseling, job search resources, and assistance with resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation. The Career Center also hosts career fairs and networking events that connect students with potential employers.

• UNCW has established partnerships with many local and regional businesses, organizations, and government agencies, which provide students with a wide range of internship and work placement opportunities. Students have the opportunity to work with a variety of employers in fields such as business, education, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.

• Students at UNCW benefit from supportive faculty who are dedicated to teaching and research. With a student-faculty ratio of 16:1, students get personalized attention and learning opportunities which allows them to prosper in their respective study fields.

• UNCW offers numerous study abroad programs, allowing students to study and travel to countries around the world while earning academic credit. The university has partnerships with universities in more than 40 countries and offers programs in a wide range of fields, including business, education, environmental studies, and international studies.

Distinguished Merit Scholarship:

This scholarship provides between $2,000 and $5,000 per academic year for up to four years. It is renewable and available to undergraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional academic ability and personal achievement during high school, as well as a strong interest in UNCW. Eligibility for this scholarship is determined based on the student's UNCW application, and no further action is required to be considered.

Global Student Ambassador Scholarship:

This scholarship provides $2,000, split into $1,000 per semester for one year (fall and spring semesters). To apply for this scholarship, students must complete an application, submit a one-page essay on how they can support incoming international students, and provide two references. Interviews are conducted in April, and the scholarship winner is announced on March 20th. In order to maintain the scholarship, students must commit to one academic year of involvement with the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) and other international students. 

The University of North Carolina Wilmington is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.
