Scholarships Detail
The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) offers numerous scholarships to international students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. For graduate students, one of the most important options is the International Merit Scholarship, which provides a significant tuition reduction and is automatically awarded to F-1 visa students who are admitted and not receiving a graduate assistantship. Departmental graduate assistantships are also available and typically carry a stipend and tuition waiver. International undergraduate majors in International Business may apply for the International Business Scholarship, a renewable $2,000 scholarship for which financial need must be demonstrated. UMSL also offers several departmental and competitive scholarships, many of which are open to international students and require a separate application upon admission. While international students are not generally eligible for federal financial aid, completion of the FAFSA may qualify for consideration for some need-based institutional grants. The university also invites students to apply for outside scholarships. For more information and application, students may visit UMSL's Student Financial Services webpage or contact the UMSL Global office.
