The University of Memphis, founded on September 10, 1912, is a public research institution based in the lively city of Memphis, Tennessee. Originally known as West Tennessee State Normal School, it has gone through several transformations before becoming the University of Memphis in 1994.The university’s spacious campus stretches across roughly 1,160 acres, providing a vibrant and engaging environment for more than 20,000 students who call it their academic home. Scholarship Details
International merits based Scholarships for Graduates and Undergraduates Students
The University of Memphis offers the International Merit Scholarship to high-achieving international undergraduate and graduate students. This merit-based award is designed to help offset tuition costs by covering the difference between international and domestic non-resident tuition rates. Undergraduate applicants must have a minimum U.S.-equivalent GPA of 3.25 or standardized test scores such as an ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1200. Graduate applicants should possess a minimum GPA of 3.25 from an accredited undergraduate program or relevant master’s degree, or competitive GRE/GMAT scores (e.g., a GRE score of 310). To retain the scholarship, undergraduate students must maintain a GPA of 2.75 in their first year and 3.0 thereafter, while graduate students must uphold a 3.25 GPA. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years for undergraduates and continues for the duration of the graduate program, provided academic and enrollment criteria are met.
