The University of Memphis, founded on September 10, 1912, is a public research institution based in the lively city of Memphis, Tennessee. Originally known as West Tennessee State Normal School, it has gone through several transformations before becoming the University of Memphis in 1994.The university’s spacious campus stretches across roughly 1,160 acres, providing a vibrant and engaging environment for more than 20,000 students who call it their academic home.
