Scholarship Details

International merits based Scholarships for Graduates and Undergraduates

The University of East Anglia (UEA) offers a range of merit-based scholarships to support academically strong international students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. For undergraduate international students, UEA provides an automatic £4,000 tuition fee reduction per year, awarded based on academic merit at the time of admission. This scholarship does not require a separate application and continues each academic year (excluding placement years), provided satisfactory academic progress is maintained. While UEA does not specify an exact GPA for undergraduates, the scholarship is generally awarded to students with high school results equivalent to UK A-level excellence. For international postgraduate students, UEA offers merit-based scholarships ranging from £4,000 to £5,000 off the tuition fee for eligible Master’s degree applicants. The amount awarded depends on the student’s academic performance in their previous degree. Typically, a minimum GPA of around 3.0 (UK 2:2 equivalent) qualifies for the £4,000 scholarship, while a GPA of approximately 3.2 or higher (UK 2:1 equivalent) may qualify for the £5,000 award. In addition, select country-specific scholarships (e.g., for students from Bangladesh and other regions) offer even higher awards, up to £6,500, based on academic performance. These scholarships are awarded automatically after assessment of the student’s academic qualifications, with no separate application required.
