The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), the home where all the international students feel comfortable and active at all times! Founded in 1890, UCO is right in Edmond, Oklahoma, a short distance away from the capital city Oklahoma City. This makes this place ideal for students who wish to have county settings yet be close to the city for a different atmosphere.

Around 14,000 UCO students are enrolled which also includes students who have goals from over 80 countries. Undergraduate Freshman Admission Scholarships

President’s Leadership Council (PLC)

  • Amount: Total four years: $45,500 ($11,375 per year)
  • Priority Deadline: May 1 (Fall)
  • Qualifications: Incoming freshman with a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrated involvement with at least one student organization.

Freshman Distinguished Global Scholar

  • Amount: Total four years - up to $16,000 ($4,000 per year)
  • Priority Deadline: Nov. 1 (Spring) May 31 (Fall)
  • Qualifications: Incoming freshmen with minimum 3.50 GPA or SAT 1300 or ACT28
  • Renewal: Renewable with 3.25 cumulative GPA or higher
  • No application is required, non-stackable with PLC or LOT.

Freshman Merit Global Scholar

  • Amount: Total four years - up to $12,000 ($3,000 per year)
  • Priority Deadline: Nov. 1 (Spring) May 31 (Fall)
  • Qualifications: Incoming freshmen with minimum 3.25 GPA or SAT 1250 or ACT26
  • Renewal: Renewable with 3.00 cumulative GPA or higher
  • No application is required, non-stackable with PLC or LOT.

University Accreditation/ Recognition

The University of Central Oklahoma is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which is a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. In addition to regional accreditation, many of UCO's academic programs have earned specialized accreditation from professional organizations. For example, the College of Education and Professional Studies is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and the College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
