About

Ramapo College of New Jersey was established in 1969 as a public liberal arts college in Mahwah, New Jersey, 30 miles northwest of New York City. The college is part of New Jersey's public higher education system and is the state's flagship public liberal arts college. Ramapo College offers over 40 undergraduate and graduate degrees across five schools of academic study: the Anis field School of Business, the School of Contemporary Arts, the School of Humanities and Global Studies, the School of Social Science and Human Services, and the School of Theoretical and Applied Science. The college is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. As of Fall 2023, the student body is composed of approximately 5,521 students, of whom 508 are graduate students. International students from over 16 countries are also served and supported by the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), which offers advice, orientation programs, and a social and educational calendar of events. The International Student Organization (ISO) also encourages cultural exchange and community among international and domestic students.

Scholarship Details

Ramapo College of New Jersey offers international students' scholarships, including the Presidential Scholarship of $20,000 per year (up to $80,000 total) and the Provost Scholarship of $10,000 per year (up to $40,000 total), depending on SAT scores and academic history. The Dean Scholarship offers a 10% reduction in tuition to students with a minimum GPA of 2.7, and the Achievement Award offers a 5% reduction in tuition to students with between a GPA of 2.3 and a GPA of 2.69. In the 2023-24 year alone, over $885,000 was distributed through 584 Foundation Scholarships. International students living in on-campus dorms receive an inherent $4,000 Out-of-State Housing Grant.
