Northern Michigan University is a  public university that was established in 1899 and is located in  Marquette, Michigan. It was established in 1899 by the Michigan Legislature as Northern State Normal School. In 1963, the state designated Northern a university and gave the school its current name of Northern Michigan University. Northern Michigan University occupies 360 acres of land built for both academic and non-academic purposes.

  • More than 180 undergraduate and graduate degree programs are available at NMU. There are five colleges there: Graduate Education and Research, College of Business, College of Health Sciences and Professional Studies, College of Technology and Occupational Sciences, and College of Arts and Sciences. Michigan Resident Scholarships 

  • This scholarship is worth $1,500 per year. To qualify for this scholarship, one must score GPA 3.00-3.24 in High School.

  • This scholarship is worth $2,000 per year. To qualify for this scholarship, one must score GPA 3.25-3.49 in High School.

  • This scholarship is worth $2,500 per year. To qualify for this scholarship, one must score GPA 3.50-3.74 in High School.

  • This scholarship is worth $3,000 per year. To qualify for this scholarship, one must score GPA 3.75-3.89 in High School.

  • This scholarship is worth $4,000 per year. To qualify for this scholarship, one must score GPA 3.9 and above in High School.
