It was established in 1899 by the Michigan Legislature as Northern State Normal School. In 1963, the state designated Northern a university and gave the school its current name of Northern Michigan University. Why Northern Michigan University
More than 180 undergraduate and graduate degree programs are available at NMU. There are five colleges there: Graduate Education and Research, College of Business, College of Health Sciences and Professional Studies, College of Technology and Occupational Sciences, and College of Arts and Sciences. This scholarship is worth $4,000 per year. To qualify for this scholarship, one must score GPA 3.9 and above in High School.
