Gannon College of Arts and Sciences was established in 1925. A private, Catholic, comprehensive co-educational institution, Gannon has emerged as Northwestern Pennsylvania’s premier Catholic university and is a valuable community and regional resource.

 It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 2,991 (fall 2022), its setting is urban, and the campus size is 63 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Gannon University comprises two vibrant campuses in Erie and Ruskin. According to the US News and World Report, Gannon University has a ranking of #260 in the National Universities Category. Applications for undergraduate programs at Gannon are on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Gannon University is less selective with admissions, as it has an acceptance rate of 84%. The  Financial Aid is annually awarded for Over $51 million.
Gannon University comprises two vibrant campuses in Erie, Pa. and Ruskin, Fla. Gannon's Erie campus is central to many businesses and organizations that provide students with hands-on learning opportunities. This urban campus in the heart of downtown is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, entertainment and Lake Erie beaches close by, and is just within a two-hour drive of Cleveland, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Gannon's Ruskin campus is a dynamic and beautiful area between Tampa and Bradenton that rates highly on measures of livability and attractiveness. Why Gannon University

    1. In 2007, Gannon University launched an impressive $25 million building project to transform the campus. The Erie Technology Incubator was built to encourage business development and create up to 300 jobs; the Zurn Science Centre received new classrooms and research facilities, while a new academic building was opened in 2008 as well.
    2. There are about 75 clubs and organizations at Gannon University students as well as student government and Greek life. Clubs include Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Club, Chemistry Club, Relay for Life Club, Science Fiction Club, Ski Club and The Environmental Club.
    3. As winner of the 2014 Abraham & Borst Award for Best College Station in the Nation, WERG – the university’s student-operated radio station – broadcasts daily. It has an Alternative Rock format on weekdays, Super Soul Saturdays, and community programming on Sundays.
    4. The Activities Programming Board also plans events throughout the year, such as: cookouts, ice cream socials, movie nights and comedy shows.
    5. Gannon is a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II. There are some 18 scholarship-granting varsity sports. men participate in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, water polo, and wrestling. Women participate in basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, volleyball and water polo.
    6. Notable alumni include John Stehr, an American television journalist who currently anchors at NBC, Kevin Benson, a television meteorologist for WPXI in Pennsylvania, and John Brabender, a prominent Republican political consultant.

    Presidential Scholarship*

    Full Tuition

    Eligible candidates must apply and be accepted to the University by December 15. The top 10 percent of accepted students by this date will be invited to compete in a scholarship contest with the ability to earn a full tuition scholarship. Up to the top 8 participants in the scholarship contest will receive full tuition scholarships.

    Founders Scholarship*

    up to $24,000

    All students who are invited and choose to participate in the above mentioned contest will have their Admissions Merit award increased by $1,000. Up to the top 8 participants in the scholarship contest will receive full tuition scholarships. Details of the scholarship contest are included with students’ acceptance letters.

    Academic Excellence Award*

    $22,000 - $23,000

    Award amounts are based on academic merit as well as SAT/ACT scores. Students who perform exceptionally well may have the opportunity to increase their scholarship/award amount and receive either the Presidential or Founders Scholarships.

    Knight Achievement Award*

    $20,000- $21,000

    Award is based on academic merit as well as SAT/ACT scores.

    Maroon & Gold Award*

    $18,000

    Award amounts are based on academic merit as well as SAT/ACT scores.
