City University of Seattle, established in 1973, is a private, nonprofit institution located in Seattle, Washington. Founded as City College by local business leaders and educators, it was created to provide accessible higher education for working adults. In 1982, it adopted its current name, reflecting its growth and expanded academic offerings. Today, CityU is part of the National University System and operates an urban campus in downtown Seattle, with additional sites in Vancouver and Tacoma, as well as international partnerships in countries such as Canada, China, and Vietnam. CityU offers over 60 degree and certificate programs across disciplines including business, education, health and human services, project management, and technology. The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and holds specialized accreditations such as ACBSP for its School of Management and ABET for its Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. CityU New International Student Merit Scholarships

Scholarships in this category are awarded to first-time CityU applicants who have achieved an outstanding academic record within their last school year.

  1. President’s Merit Award Scholarship: $5,000 scholarship disbursed evenly during the first three quarters of enrollment in the academic program (You must have a combined grade average of 90% or higher).
  2. Academic Achievement Scholarship: $2,000 scholarship disbursed evenly during the first three quarters of enrollment in the academic program (You must have a combined grade average of 75% or higher).
