We have been aware of the trends of pursuing higher education in some of the top destinations of the world like the USA, UK, Japan, Canada, Australia and South Korea. So let’s talk about one of the uprising destinations among international students, which is the UK. The UK is a combination of 4 different countries such as Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.  There are many beautiful cities in the UK such as London, Chester, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburg, and so on. London was awarded as the ‘World’s Best Student City’ in 2024 by QS world university rankings, holding this status since 2018.

As per the recent data it was found that 13,339 students from Nepal have been enrolled in the UK for the fiscal year 2080/2081. There is no doubt that the UK education system is one of the best, where they are focused more on hands-on experience. The visa success rate of the UK is also pretty good so the student will not be wasting their time and effort.  We all know that the British education system is highly renowned and valued all over the job market, globally. Among 160 universities in the UK 17 of them are ranked in the top 100. Universities like Oxford, Cambridge and Emperor College of London are ranked in the top 10. Also, QAA (Quality Assurance Agency) makes sure that the universities in the UK maintain their quality of education. Most of the international students prefer the UK for further education as it provides a wide range of courses which might not be available in other countries.

The UK is also known for rich history and cultural diversity which provides international students an experience of unique British culture. The universities in the UK attract students from all over the globe which creates a diverse environment and students can learn about different cultures and traditions.  In most of the countries language has also been a major drawback whereas in the UK, English is the primary language of instruction. One of the best features of the UK is that it provides various scholarships and financial aid options in order to help international students manage their tuition fees and living expenses. Also, with the new 2-years post-study work rights in the UK, international students completing a program in the UK at the undergraduate, post-graduate, or doctorate level will be allowed to apply for the Graduate immigration route with a valid Tier 4 Visa. Studying higher education in the UK will help students complete their courses in a shorter period of time. In most countries undergraduate degrees are for 4 years whereas in the UK, students can complete it in just 3 years and postgraduate degree for a year. (For research-oriented courses it may take between 18 months and 2 years).

However, we are aware of the rumors in the market that the UK has high living expenses and less job opportunities but that is a myth unless we receive the correct advice.
