Sydney Institute of Business and Technology (SIBT) is a leader in innovative higher education with local and international students who need to make the transition before enrolling in many of Australia's finest universities. SIBT has been in operation since 1997 and is part of the world-renowned Navitas Group, which serves over 80,000 students annually and is affiliated with a globally regarded education provider.
As a tertiary college that collaborates with other partner universities, SIBT facilitates the transition from high school to university-level studies. Throughout their undergraduate studies, students are prepared in essential areas such as business and entrepreneurship, accounting and finance, engineering, hospitality management, and digital media. SIBT, an experienced pathway provider for over 17 years, has successfully seen over 25,000 graduates complete their diploma programs and achieve the requirements for admission to a desired degree. SIBT is affiliated with Western Sydney University, known as the college of Western Sydney University so SIBT only offers foundation and diploma programs. If anyone wants to study degree programs they can study at Western Sydney University directly; there is no need to apply for SIBT. On successful completion of an SIBT diploma in 8 or 12 months, you can progress directly to second-year studies at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus.
Some Diploma programs are:
Diploma in Business
Diploma in Engineering
Diploma in Information Technology
Diploma in Communication & Creative industry
Students who apply for admission after successfully completing Year 12 or its equivalent will be enrolled in one of these four diploma programs. The programs include eight university-level units studied over three trimesters, comprising five core modules and three electives.
Those who have simply completed their Year 11 studies can enroll in SIBT's 2-to-3-trimester long foundation program, including 8 pre-university units again guaranteeing admission into one of the diploma programs. In any of the college pathway programs students will also be involved with learning transferable skills useful in future studies and employment, for example, communication, presentation, and project management.
Entry Requirement:
For students with a very low GPA and low English proficiency test scores, the foundation course is perfect for you. You will study for 8-12 months before applying for a bachelor’s degree, which means you will study foundation plus bachelor’s which equals 4 years. If you have a good GPA but a low English proficiency test score, you can apply for a diploma, which is reasonable. The best part is that you will be studying for a diploma and then getting a second year top up of your chosen degree. For foundation 5.5, an overall 5.5 is allowed, and for diploma 6, no band less than 5.5 will be accepted.
