For students applying for a bachelor’s degree, the academic gap should not be more than one year. If a student has cleared their +2 graduation in the year 2024, they should apply by the end of Nov 2025.
However, for nursing students, a gap is acceptable for two years, as a student will be applying for a Licensing Exam. If a student has cleared their Nursing exam by 2024, they should apply by the end of Nov 2026. Additionally, the student in the meantime could engage themselves and have a minimum work experience of six months, it will be beneficial to strengthen their profile.
For students applying for master’s programs, it is essential for them to have work experience of at least one year and above. Fresh graduates can apply without any experience; however, if the gap after their undergraduate program is more than six years, it is mandatory to have work experience.
For a master’s program students can have a gap as long as 5 to 8 years, if they have good experience and skills to prove during their working period. However it is also essential to acknowledge the fact that the student should not be over 30 years of age, when applying for a master’s program.
