About
Central Queensland University is an Australian public university established in 1967 as the Queensland Institute of Technology. It gained its full university status in 1992 and it was named University of Central Queensland in the same year. Later in 1994 it adopted the name Central Queensland University which became CQ University in 2008 as the institutions’ expanded beyond the Central Queensland region. It was originally founded in Rockhampton, Queensland and currently it has 14 campuses all across Australia. It is the only Australian university with a campus presence in every mainland state. It is recognised within the world’s top 650 universities by QS World University Rankings. It is also ranked as one of the world’s best universities under 50 years of age by Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings.
